Bend and Squeeze is a hands-free kit concept designed for Orange which uses the earpieces' wire as the main interface between user and product. Refer to the Cord Input technology that makes the wire can sense different interaction and combine the research of gestures - the new concept is able to distinguish users' gesture and finger press.

The idea came from the observation of users who played the wire as a physical feedback. The main function is not only to pick up an incoming phone call but also four kinds of distinctive interaction - hang up, quick dial, return call and interrupt call - which extend the usage of a hands-free kit. The Interrupt Call is the function specially designed to address the issue of picked unpleasant call. Combined with social interactions that if you pick up a call that you really don’t want to carry on, you can squeeze the wire to interrupt the conversation. Another side of the call will receive a voice information about your phone is out of signal. Other functions are the physical control of phone call reactions. Consider the universal design principle with the main input method that the product can be use by natural instincts.
